Category: Transport I went on the new train bridge yesterday and it was really good -- didn't fall down or anything and it's yellow which is my youngest's favourite colour. Gunzel's seem to be impressed as well. |

Category: Audio Those of you who have an iPhone (iDon't) or a 2G iPodTouch (iDo) may be interested in the iTalk. The phone thing has a microphone built in and the touch thing doesn't but it seems to work real well indeed if you get an external microphone. Once you've recorded the audio you can then wirelessly transfer it to your desktop/laptop, well worth investigating -- both pro and lite versions are available -- your mileage may vary. |

Category: Inaugurated Well, I watched it live and it had everything you could hope for! A Poet; two evangelists (neither of which were BHO); a language malfunction; Aretha Franklin singing what sounded like "God Save the Queen" and a Kennedy taken to hospital -- what more could you hope for? (jeez, I'm getting more like Semi as I get older, eh?) |

Category: Apple Next week marks the 25th Anniversary of the Fruit Companys crown jewels (No, not that phone thing). Computerworld have assembled a fine collection of the best and worst advertisements for the product. Some of our readership will enjoy. |

Category: Warmening Forget cars and planes and light bulbs (the new ones are rubbish) and human footprints walking all over CO2 et al, bloody Google searches are the problem, global warmening is caused by folks like YOU who do Google searches without even caring about the goddam environment, you bastards. For goodness sake, get a hybrid search engine. (and stop having cups of tea) |

Category: Fillums I went to see this today. It was great, don't bother with anything else, just go see it -- that's it...just go see it! Interestingly enough, I was a bit early for the gig today but they (Westgarth--silly web site) started all of the advertisements, promo's and rubbish at 10:15 for a 10:30 session so the actual started bloody close to the advertised time -- that was good. Last week I went to see that other fillum and I thought it was really good. *I* didn't find it overly long (hmm, surprised me too). If you're happy to believe that all Aussies (except Hugh) are either drunk or bastards (stereotyping), put up with some wooden acting, suspend a bit of believe and watch some beautiful cinematography it's just like this fillum. No seriously!! I enjoyed both, that Nixon one quite a bit better but (probably helps if you know a smidgin' about the events though). FWIW |
Category: Apple™ It seems something interesting did come out of the last MacWorld after all. The Onion reports. |

Category: Light Over 10 years ago I bought one of these. It's held me in very good stead over this time (very handy for theatre and av/pc patching work) but it finally packed up last week. From memory (I imported it from the US) it cost me around $A35 -- it was real small and the batteries were easily replaceable. I just replaced it with a LED2BU1 which is a bit bigger but was only around $A10 from Coles/New World/Dickens. So far so good. Broader beam but more modern technology. Your lumens may vary. |
