Top Ten Flash Bang Demos.
Sometimes the arithmetic is just too easy. Look at how Ben Goldacre tears down some British press coverage of a drug raid in Afghanistan.

Theo Spark has provided some interesting items in this morning's blogging (don't go there if the odd bit of nudity offends).
Firstly, a silly-but-fun bit of Flash animation called Icon's Story.
Secondly this story...
A linguistics professor was lecturing to his class one day. "In English," he said, "A double negative forms a positive. In some languages, though, such as Russian, a double negative is still a negative. However, there is no language wherein a double positive can form a negative."

My friend Stuart pointed me towards this.
Umm, I reckon it's an absolute cracker and could wax effusive on its' benefits but then realised that if you don't have a personal application that the product satisfies then you wouldn't want to know about it anyway or whatever.
You use it to take notes in meetings or whatever and it records both your writing and listening, it relates each to each other and you plug it into your computer and all of the content goes on to your computer where you could edit or save or reference or pencast it, is probably the simple explanation.
Your penage may vary.

Mr Prawo Jazdy is a really bad driver. Read about him at the BBC website.
Go here to see some of "a fight between a redheaded woodpecker and a yellow-shafted northern flicker over a nest hole". Wow!
I have enabled comments on TramTown. I will turn them off if I feel that the outcomes are not favourable.

I went to see Gran Torino yesterday.
IT IS QUITE VIOLENT,
if you have a problem with this it's probably a mistake to go and see it.
I don't have a major problem with film violence and I absolutely loved this film!
Shortish <2 hours; excellent cinematography, fantastic acting (maybe exceptional except I can't do strikethrough) and (I'd imagine) great sound (except I saw it at the Westgarth #3 where the sound can be a bit flaky at times to my 50 YO ears).
It was just like a violent, race reversed version of this only with better acting.
Think about it. In both films....An elderley man from one culture teaches a young man from another culture about life. In one of these films, people die (not that many but).

My guess is that DB and I will be the only TramTown readers interested in this page full of Compact Cassette cardboard inserts from many years ago.

I stumbled on a recent article by Gerard Jackson on BrookesNews about McCarthyism. It's a fascinating read, Jack.

There's no need for trashy novels here in TramTown North, we just go and look into the histories of European royals. Take Charles the second of Spain as an example. It seems to have been a great tradition in his family to have a single individual as both aunt and grandmother. It's no surprise to us here in the twenty first century that high levels of inbreeding did him no good. He was a failure as a breeder and his lower jaw was so large that he found it difficult to chew. As quoted on the Wikipedia page "Charles II of Spain was perhaps the only royal in history who could neither masticate nor masturbate".

It appears that the Japanese health system is failing due, largely, to the tragedy of the commons.
P. J. O'Rourke once said:
"If you think health care is expensive now, wait until you see what it costs when it's free."

Possibly apocraphyl but amusing none the less.

Semi and I have managed many servers in our time, as have many of our readers managed many servers. I, personally, managed all (7) of the dwarfs, all (7) of the sins, all (5) of the Tracy Brothers and several '60's American sitcoms as either server names or passwords (to mention only a few) -- we're not alone!

Do you have to purchase carbon credits if you obtained your ticket using frequent flier points?
