Category: Economics In Melbourne, we remember a time when S11 meant a bunch of misled schoolchildren and useless stoners protesting against the World Economic Forum in 2000, often with specific reference to Nike. Strangely, it was the biggest business day ever for several of the nearby McDonalds and a decent proportion of the schoolchildren were wearing Nikes. I was sitting in a tower watching the stock market on my Taiwanese computer. I always thought this would happen to Nike's third world workers. I'm very happy for the Vietnamese Nike workers that it has. (found while reading Tim Blair) |
