Category: Museums Sometime ago, we brought the Michaels Camera Museum to the attention of TramTown's massive readership. Yesterday, just over one block west of that museum, I discovered the Wunderkammer. It presents a fairly small offering to the streetscape and it is not very big inside but it truly is the wonder chamber that its name suggests. It has apparently been there since last September but I had not noticed it. According to the very pleasant and welcoming lady on the front desk, it was a smaller operation in Carlton prior to that. The best thing about this museum was that it had an operating Stirling engine in the front window. One peek at that and I was sold. See the magnificent Animated Engines site for information about how a Stirling engine works. You will love that page I reckon, Jack. |
