Category: Ejakashun From The Times comes news of a back-to-basics push in French Primary schools. This minister had this to say: “It's not by listening to a great pianist for hours on end that you become one, it's by doing your scales.”One commenter said: The comparison with learning one's scales is apt. Music teachers have resisted the educational fads of the past 40 years, because, I think, the terrible results would be immediately obvious. Math and English teachers have the luxury of experimenting whilst pushing the prolbem on down the road.I though you might like that one, Jack! |
